Westwood Museum Project Begins Documenting Dixie Fire Stories

We are all living through history right now with the seemingly-never ending Dixie Fire. As the mammoth fire winds down, the folks at the Westwood Museum are starting a project that will document the stories of those people who have been affected by the Dixie, preserving them for years to come.

According to the museum the Dixie Fire stories will be assembled in a binder containing individual accounts of people in the area as they dealt, or are still dealing, with the effects of the fire.

If you would like to write up the story of your Dixie experience to be included in the Westwood Museum’s project, including pictures if available, please do so by posting it to the Westwood Museum Facebook page, sending it to our email at [email protected], or mailing it to P.O. Box 355, Westwood, CA 96137.

This project will be on display at the Westwood Museum and will be available to the general public.

If you have questions, you can call the Museum at 256-2233 during regular business hours, Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 until 4:00.

There are suggestions for the content of your story on the museum’s Facebook page. These are only suggestions and you can include whatever you want. There is no deadline to submit your story.
