The fire continues to burn in a remote area away from structures and has grown to 700 acres.

The lightning sparked Evans fire, which has burned more than 350 acres of grass and brush near Highway 395 and the Nevada border, is at only 10% of containment tonight with crews actively engaged in constructing line along both flanks of the fire.
The fire is burning in a location around 3 miles west of Highway 395.
According to the 9:30p.m. update from sierrafront.net no structures are threatened by the fire.
Resources working the fire include 3 air tankers, 2 helicopters, 1 water tender, 1 dozer, 2 hand crews, 3 engines and more than 85 firefighters on the ground.
Firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, NDF, BLM, and Truckee Meadows Fire Department responded to the fire at around 5:45p.m.
