Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Reno have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our region as snow accumulations of six to twelve inches are expected above 5,500 ft and between ten and twenty inches above 7,000 ft. in the next 24 hours.
Here in the Honey Lake Valley winds will be gusting between 35 and 55mph, and gusting up to 85mph over ridges.
Travel could be very difficult over mountain passes. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Strong winds could cause damage to trees, power lines and may impact travel conditions along highway 395.
