I could not let the year end without honoring local Real Estate legend, Sally Finizio.
Anyone who lives in Lassen County must have heard Sally’s name, if not the phrase “Sally sells Susanville” when discussing local Real Estate.
Sally sold Real Estate in Lassen County for decades at Town & Country Real Estate, who her husband, Ben Finizio started in the 1970’s.
I had the honor of working for Sally for 6 years before her retirement in 2005. Sally would go to the ends of the earth for her clients, making sure they were represented as if they were her own family. To Sally, they were!
Sally lived and breathed Real Estate, working seven days a week for months on end. Her endless energy and infectious laugh were just a small part of what made her a successful Realtor in Lassen County.
Sally was never afraid to be the first one in town to try new things, her picture was on every one of her Real Estate signs, her and her team were at the Lassen County fair showcasing her listings for years, she personally hand delivered Christmas ornaments to all of her clients every year (that was more than a month in the making , not to mention 2 weeks to deliver) and when that moving truck showed up in our parking lot with life size pictures of both of us, I wanted to crawl under a rock!

Not Sally, she threw me the keys, said get in, you’re driving and away we went cruising all over town showing off the newest Sally idea. That moving truck helped hundreds of families move before being hit and totaled by a semi on main street in 2015.
Sally expected a lot from those who worked for her; however, she always expected more of herself! Sally’s endless energy and big personality kept the energy in our office alive and thriving, some of my best memories in this lifetime are from my time spent with Sally, I was beyond fortunate to have her as my Real Estate mentor and friend, I truly learned from the best!
Real Estate has changed over the years, like everything else; technology has taken over how we do business in today’s world. However, one thing that will never change is our outstanding customer service, Real Estate is about people, not homes. That was the way Sally did business, we honor her at Town & Country Real Estate by continuing with that philosophy to this day. Real Estate will always be about providing outstanding customer service and putting clients above all else.
Thank You Sally, for the knowledge, passion, commitment and love for Real Estate that you taught me through the years. Learning from you has been invaluable.
Sally passed away August 2nd in Reno, NV with her daughter Katie Martin by her side.
