Luke Sheehy passed away unexpectedly on June 10th, 2013 at 28 years of age. Sheehy, a firefighter and member of the California Smokejumpers, was struck by a falling portion of a tree while operating on the Saddle Back Fire in the Modoc National Forest. Luke Sheehy is the son of Doug and Lynn Sheehy, brother of Kate and Meg. A memorial for Luke Sheehy will be held at the Walker Mansion in Westwood on Saturday June 22nd, 2013 at 1:00p.m. A second memorial is planned for the Redding Civic Center at 1:00p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd in Redding.

Carol May Hodgson passed away unexpectedly on January 22nd, 2013 at 70 years of age. Carol was born in June 1942 in Susanville, California and moved to the valley as a young girl and graduated from Corning High in 1960. Carol returned to Susanville with her family in 1974 where she worked as a bookkeeper for the City of Susanville for more than 10 years and then more recently for Haws, Theobald & Auman until she retired in early 2011. Agnes Genevieve Smith passed away on January 15, 2013 at 99 years of age with her family by her side. Agnes was born November 2, 1913 in Dillon, Montana. Her parents John and Annie Spehar emigrated from Eastern Europe in the late 1800’s. She and Cecil Smith were married on December 19, 1936.
