Lassen County Clerk-Recorder Julie Bustamante announced a short time ago that the canvassing process for the June 5th, Primary Election began this morning at 9:30a.m.
Bustamante explains, “The canvass consists of four individuals who will verify that all ballots are accounted for and properly processed throughout Lassen County.”
By law the canvassers are also required to hand count 1% of the votes for every race on the ballot.
“Because the race for Supervisor District One is so close,” says Bustamante, “I am going to have the Canvass Board hand count the entire district.”
