Lassen High School Grizzly football is gearing up for an exciting fall on the gridiron as the Grizzlies prepare to do battle in the CIF Northern Section Division III. Grizzly fans are encouraged to pack the stands and support the Freshman, JV and Varsity squads at one of the home matchups.
The home schedule at Lassen High opens on Friday, September 11th, when the Grizzlies host Enterprise. The tripleheader begins with the freshman squad taking the field at 3:30p.m., followed by the JV kickoff at 5:30 and the varsity battle under the lights at 7:30.
Two weeks later, on Friday, September 25th, Foothill visits Susanville for another full slate of games, with freshmen kicking off at 3:30p.m., JV at 5:30, and varsity at 7:30.
League competition arrives in October as the Grizzlies welcome Central Valley for a Northern Section showdown on Friday, October 9th, with JV taking the field at 5:30p.m. and varsity playing at 7:30.
The freshman team takes center stage for a standalone home game on Thursday, October 15th at 4:30p.m.
The home schedule continues on Friday, October 23rd, against league rival University Prep and concludes on Friday, November 6th, against Yreka, with both Friday dates hosting JV games at 5:30p.m. followed by varsity matchups at 7:30.
Community members, parents, and supporters can get involved right away at the LHS Football Booster meeting tonight, August 17th, at 6:00, at the Sentimental Journey Ranch. Booster meetings are open to anyone who wants to help make the season the best possible experience for the student-athletes, and attendees do not need to be voting members to come and share their input.
Fans can catch an early preview of the team during the annual Grizz Feed this Friday, August 21st, featuring an intrasquad scrimmage at 6:00p.m. Lassen will then officially kick off the regular season on the road against Shasta High, with the freshmen playing on Thursday, August 27th at 5:30p.m., followed by the JV and varsity openers on Friday, August 28th at 5:30p.m. and 7:00p.m.
