Claim is Leased Near Susanville
April 19, 1934

Dr. W. B. Thomas, former Nevada and California broker, and Ed R. Philips of Los Angeles have leased a claim on Diamond Mountain from George McDow.

The partners plan to begin operations immediately. They intend to operate a full claim and have started to build a road to the portal of the tunnel. The surface ores gave such values that they have stated that they will operate 365 days a year.

Phillips has spent the past three years in the Diamond Mountain section prospecting. Thomas and Philips’ plan is to start four men working immediately, and their ore will be run at the custom mill that is to be erected on the mountain in the near future.
