Minta Young, 92, of Herlong, CA, passed away peacefully June 20, 2014 at Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, CA.
She was born October 17, 1921 in Denning, Arkansas, the daughter of the late John and Bessie Shirley, and had resided in Herlong since 1952. She was a homemaker and an avid walker for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was a dear sweet lady and loved so much by her family and friends. She will be missed by all.

Barry was born February 20, 1947 and due to a very difficult labor and delivery, he was born with cerebral palsy. The medical team thought he was stillborn and directed their care to his mother, Dorris. After a few moments they noticed that he was breathing. Barry's mom was a petite woman and Barry's birth weight was 10 pounds.
His father left Barry's mom in his early childhood, leaving her as the sole parent and caregiver. They had a very close and loving relationship. With her love, she was very protective of him.

My beloved Paul passed into heaven on April 8th after a fierce battle with lung cancer. By the time we knew what had been going on in his body the cancer was widespread. To treat it conventionally was out of the question. We prayed and asked for a miracle. The miracle turned out to be that Paul was lifted up out of his pain Into a realm of sweetness and Light.
