Ken “Papa Ken” Sawyer
February 20, 1947 – August 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ken Sawyer, lovingly known to many as “Papa Ken.” Ken was an avid bass fisherman, a proud Marine and Vietnam veteran, and a dedicated member of the Westwood community.
Ken was born in French Camp, California, on February 20, 1947. He moved to Westwood during his high school years and called the community home until leaving for military service in 1966. He returned to Westwood in 1971, where he built his life, raised his family, and remained a devoted member of the community.
Ken passed away on August 5, leaving behind his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Linda Sawyer; his son, Ken Sawyer of Westwood, and his partner, Lana; and his daughter, Kimberly Sawyer of Westwood, and her partner, Jason.
Ken will be remembered for his love of family, fishing, his community, and his country. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
