The Westwood Unified School District is looking for civic-minded community members to play a vital role in shaping local education by running for the Board of Trustees, which currently has three positions open in the upcoming November election.
Board members serve the community by establishing educational goals for the district, hiring and evaluating the Superintendent, approving school curricula, calendars, and budgets, and creating district policies. Trustees also work directly alongside parents and residents to foster strong public support for quality education.
To qualify for these elected seats, candidates must be registered voters living within WUSD boundaries. Interested individuals must file their Declaration of Candidacy papers with the Lassen County Clerk by this Friday, August 7th. Those elected will be officially seated during the board’s December meeting.
