Susanville Cub Scout Pack 159 invites local youth and families to “Escape the Great Indoors” during an open recruitment night on Wednesday, September 9th, at 6:30p.m. at the Susanville Community Center, located at 95 N. Weatherlow Street.
The event welcomes local kids ages 5 to 17 to come out, meet pack members, and learn all about local scouting opportunities. Cub Scout Pack 159 is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade, while older youth ages 11 to 17 are invited to explore adventures with Troop 159.
Scouting offers a time-tested program providing kids and families with fun outdoor experiences, lasting friendships, and adventures they might not encounter in other activities. Designed to encourage hands-on learning away from screens, the program helps build strong minds, active bodies, and key foundations in leadership, citizenship and personal fitness.
Cub Scouting activities are crafted for families to share in the fun—from exploring the outdoors and building hands-on projects to earning grade-specific patches alongside peers. Dens are organized by grade level, and packs generally meet either once a week or twice a month, depending on schedules that best accommodate participating families.
A registration fee will be collected at sign-up, though financial aid is available for families who qualify.
