The Susanville Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help with their annual Back-to-School shopping event, a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on a student’s life. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19th, from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. at Walmart.
The organization is calling for compassionate community members to serve as “volunteer shoppers.” Similar to the “Holiday with a Hero” program, volunteers will be paired one-on-one with a student from Lassen County.
Each child will receive $100 to spend on new school clothes, and volunteers will guide them through the shopping experience. Parents do not accompany the children during this time, making the role of the volunteer crucial in ensuring a fun and supportive day.
Volunteers can choose their preferred time slot to work between the hours of 9:00 and 3:00.
To sign up, follow this link to the Salvation Army’s online registration form.
For any questions about the event or volunteering, please contact Juanita at 1.530.257.0314.
The Susanville Salvation Army emphasizes that this event is a rewarding experience and a wonderful way to serve the students of Lassen County.
