The Lassen County Animal Shelter is looking for community volunteers to step up and spend time walking dogs housed at the shelter. Giving just 15 to 30 minutes of your time can provide a pup with essential exercise, mental enrichment and a much-needed break from their kennel.
Beyond giving the dogs a bright spot in their day, volunteer walkers play a critical role in getting animals adopted. When volunteers share their observations during walks, shelter staff learn valuable details about each dog’s unique personality, behavior, and preferences—helping match them with the best possible forever homes.
One walk really can change a life, and every walk brings a shelter dog one step closer to home.
